Breakthough

Weather has finally held and trails were rideable enough to get some miles in this weekend. I managed to ride almost as much in 2 days this weekend than the whole of last month. I feel good even though I'm numb on the living room floor typing this...

I'm finally starting to conceive where I want to take this "hobby" that I've found. I want to move to another level. Not for anyone but myself. I want to ride the trails and know that I'm doing what I'm capable of, not short changing myself. I have goals that I want to see realized. Time to start making reality happen....

Valentime's Ride

Went to Herb today and rode a lap (still working on getting to feeling good on the 1st, hoping for a 2nd soon). Nice late winter day, about 55 deg. After the lap there, enjoyed gyros, and then went to WRT for a quick lap of the white/yellow trail. It was a good day...

What is w/ Saturdays?

Well, after the fiasco last weekend, we almost started the same way again.... Got the wife the new Trek and a new bike rack. Stayed up late after working 13 hrs yesterday to get this thing put together so all we had to do was slide into the hitch.... well.... Didn't work quite that way. The hitch didn't fit due to spare tire. So the crap rack went back on and we got to watch 2 grand in bike sway back and forth enroute to the trail....happy days...

Met Chinn on the trail today. Riding a freaking SSCX...craziness....

Wish I would have taken the camera today....

Peace at last

Well, after riding a "wally world" mongoose for 8 months, my wife finally graduates to a "real" MTB, a Trek 6700 WSD. Now I don't have to hear about how "I have to ride the pc 'o crap" all the time. :) I'm just glad that we've both found something that we can do "together" without arguing, hey that's the beauty of marriage, right, arguing??

Blah

The 1st decent day to ride all week and I'm stuck at home helping my wife change an oil pressure switch on our Jeep. My freaking arm was too big to fit where it needed to, so the wife got to bust knuckles while I held the shop light ( :o). After about 2 hrs and 2 trips to the autoparts store, we finally succeeded in our endeavor. I hate mechanics......

WRT 1/25

Rode the WRT today, 10.32 mi @ 1:10:00. Rode west from Gtown Rd parking via Blue/White trails to 5 points, then on to Yellow trail north of Walnut Grove to 3 plank bridge. Turned around from there and made my way back (didn't want to run outta gas) My goal is to eventually ride this to Summer Ave, maybe on from there. I think for 6 months riding on an off due to work restrictions, pretty good....

new

I just started riding MTB in July '08. Bought my first "real" MTB in September. I'm hooked on this...It's a real challenge to ride something under your own power over rocks and roots, up steep hills, shoot down drops and jumps, and wiggle across skinny lines, all while trying to keep from endo'ing the handlebars....

I'm riding the local trails here right now, but I look online and see the epic scale of other places and wish for the day that I see myself in those settings, admiring nature
